I wanted to learn about Chinese culture and understand their behavior as part of my travel to China. So I got this book from Shanghai Museum. The stories narrated here are heart-breaking. It was hard, if not a curse being born a woman during China’s cultural revolution. Similarly for families with good education and ties with foreign countries. This book is definitely a window that offers a glimpse into China’s dark political past and how it affected its people, and how they, especially the women coped, thrived, survived…
