Crossing Okinawan Bridges

Just north of Nago City is Kouri Island which is part of Nakijin Village. To visit the island, one has to cross two bridges. The first connects Okinawa main island (West coast) and Yagaji Island. And the second connects Yagaji and Kouri islands. There is a beautiful beach where one can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or diving. Kouri is famous for its delicious sea urchins.

KOURI BRIDGE is the longest (2,020meters) toll free open road bridge in Japan connecting Kouri and Yagaji islands. It was opened to traffic on February 8, 2005.
