Delicious Ambiguity

found this in my notepad while browsing; these are definitely not my original. however, i thought it might be a source of light for some of you who have the luxury of time to stop, look and read… -Syel

I can’t change your past with all its heartache and pain, nor the future with its untold stories, but i can be there when you need me to care;
I can’t keep your feet from stumbling, i can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall;
Your triumphs and joys are not mine, yet i can share in your laughter;
Your decisions in life are not mine to make nor to judge, i can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you ask;
I can’t prevent you from falling away from relationships, from your values, from me, I can only pray for you, talk to you, and wait for you;
I can’t give you boundaries which i have determined for you, but i can give you the room to change, to grow and to be yourself;
I can’t keep your heart from breaking and hurting, but i can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place;
I can’t tell you who you are, I can only love you as you…

Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you…
If words could say all that we feel, there would be no need for an embrace. But language has limitations, and the heart has none. Love expresses itself spontaneously in even the smallest things we do. We seldom think of what we have, but always think of what we miss. Perhaps God wants us to be acquainted with many different people in this course of life so that when we meet the right ones, we may appreciate and be grateful for them.

I wanted a perfect ending, but now i have learned the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. Life is after all about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it without knowing what’s going to happen next. Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain…

Let us live savoring the giftedness of our “now” moment, for it is all that we have… -Syel

"The beauty of the truth is that it need not be proclaimed or believed. It skips from soul to soul, changing form each time it touches, but it is what it is."— Mark Helprin
